Print On Demand Services Integration With Wix
There are so many print-on-demand videos making appearances on my Youtube suggestion nowadays. It seems like a very hot topic.
But 90% of the videos are about Shopify. I’m not sure because Shopify is good. Or it pays a fat commission to those Youtubers. Anyways, there are not enough videos about print-on-demand with Wix.
You can build a print on demand business on Wix. Wix doesn’t have as many options as Shopify does. But those few options can satisfy your needs. Plus Wix only charges you $20 a month compared to $30 a month from Shopify. You save some money with Wix.
1. What print on demand options do you have on Wix?
You have three options: Printful, Printify, and Zazzle.
Each of those has an app on Wix. You can find them on Wix App Market and add them to your sites. The apps help automate a lot of manual tasks to run a print-on-demand business. Plus you don’t have to pay to use the apps. They are free. This is great as you just started your business and have a tight budget.
One exception is the MyTshirt app which connects your store with Zazzle. Later on you may want to upgrade to the premium subscription which offers many nice features. The premium subscription costs you around $4 a month.
2. How many print on demand customized products you can create on Wix?
The answer is a lot. The list of products is very long. You will find the list in the below section.
Printful and Printify are the most popular print on demand manufacturers out there. If you use their services, you have access to 80% print on demand products available on the market.
If you want to sell even more unique items, you can use myTshirt (for Zazzle). It offers unique products like wine bottles, etc.
3. What is the cost of running a print on demand business on Wix?
The fix cost is between $20 and $30 per month. And your variable cost depends on how successful your business is. Let me break it down.
The fix cost includes $10 a year for the site domain, and $20 a month for Wix subscription. If you use the premium Zazzle app (myTshirt) you pay another $4 per month. And if you buy Printify membership to reduce the product costs further, you will pay another $8 per month.
Your variable cost is the cost you pay to manufacture each product you sell. Assuming this month you only sell one T-shirt. Your variable cost is only $8 because Printify charges you $8 to make that T-shirt. However, in the next month your Wix store experiences a sales explosion. You sell 100 T-shirts in that month. Then your variable cost is $800.
As I demonstrate above, your variable costs can be big. Success in print on demand business is expensive. So be prepared. But don’t worry too much about it because your customers will pay for it. As long as your prices can cover your cost, you are doing great.
In my experience, the fixed cost is what bankrupts the business. You have to pay the fixed cost whether or not you make a sale. But the fixed cost is $30 per month. It’s too small to bankrupt you.
That’s why print on demand is a wonderful business. I am glad you want to try it out.
4. Which print on demand service is the best fit for your business?
The most important requirement is that the print on demand company must have the products you want to sell. For example, you want to sell shower curtains. But Printful doesn’t make shower curtains. Obviously you cannot choose Printful. You instead pick Printify or Zazzle.
The second requirement is the cost. This depends on your product prices and your target customers. If your target customers are willing to pay more for quality products, you can afford to buy more expensive and better products from Printful. Otherwise, you can get cheaper products from Printify. Or let Zazzle take care of the cost and give you the commission.
All three print on demand companies can deliver the products to your customers within two weeks. No single company has a significant shorter shipping time than the others. And they all have good customer services.
Another major difference between those three companies is the choice of suppliers. You probably wonder what I am talking about? The secret is Printful, Printify, and Zazzle don’t make products themself. They partner with many suppliers to make your products. Those suppliers are located in different locations, and have different abilities.
Printful and Zazzle doesn’t let you choose suppliers. But Printify does. If you decide to go with Printify, pick the suppliers located closest to your customer base. This will ensure fast delivery and best customer satisfaction.
