Personalize Printify Products on Wix

Personalized t-shirts, personalized coffee mugs, personalized bags. Sound likes everything can be personalized. It is a hot trend right now.

It makes sense to me because personalization is the easiest way to create a unique product to each customer. And the customers are willing to pay more for an item with their personal elements on it.

If you are using Wix store and Printify, you may wonder if it is possible to sell personalized products with the two. The good news is that you can. The bad news is that you have to handle it manually because Printify hasn’t yet developed the automated process for personalization. That’s why personalization with Printify products work best when you have a virtual assistant.

Anyways, the instruction is below.

1. Enable the customers to enter the personalized texts

The first task is to enable text customization on the listing of products you wish to personalize. 

Please take note that Wix only allows text personalization at the moment. For example, change the name on a coffee mug. Wix doesn’t have the capacity to do picture personalization. So uploading your customer’s dog picture to a coffee mug is not possible.

The steps to enable text customization.

1. Click Manage Products button
2. Click the production that needs personalization
3. Click Add Custom Text Field in Custom Text section
4. Set Char Limit and Custom Text Field  
5. Click Save

2. Set Printity order approval process to manual

The orders from Wix store will tell Printify to make products without the personalized text. You don’t want that. To prevent it, you must set the order approval process to manual in Printify so that you can have the chance to edit the products to the customers’ requirements. 

The steps to enable manual approval process are below

1. Click Manage My Stores
2. Click Settings 
3. Click Preferences
4. Scroll to Order approval section
5. Select Manual option
6. Click Save

3. Create personalized product before sending the order to production

The following process is what you would do every time you get a personalized order. 

1. Make a copy of the ordered product on Printify
2. Upload personalized design to the new product 
3. Replace the item in the order with the new product
4. Approve and send order to production
