Personalize Printful Products on Wix
One effective trick to sell more is to let your customers personalize the products. It usually means you allow the customers to replace an element of your design with their names or pictures.
The question is “how do you implement this idea on Wix?”.
Wix store allows your customers to enter their personalized texts. Right now it doesn’t allow your customers to personalize with pictures. Also, there is no way to automate the process from Wix store personalized orders to Printful order fulfillment. But you can handle this process manually.
The instructions below will teach you how to set up your Wix store and Printful so that you can enable your ecommerce business to sell personalized products.
1. Enable customers to enter personalized text on Wix Store
Your first task is to enable your customers to enter the personalized texts. You have the options to enable or disable this feature on each product listing. So select the product you want to personalize and do the steps below.
- Click Manage Products button
- Click the production that needs personalization
- Click Add Custom Text Field in Custom Text section
- Set Char Limit and Custom Text Field
- Click Save
2. Change to manually confirm imported orders in Printful
Because you cannot automate the design personalization in Wix, you must switch to manually confirm orders in Printful. It will give you the time to change the designs, edit the orders to the customers’ requirements before the production.
Steps to set manually confirm orders in Printful
- Click Settings on Printful Dashboard left side menu
- Click Orders
- Scroll to Order import settings section
- Select Manually confirm imported orders
- Click Save
3. Edit the drafted orders for personalization before fulfillment
The initial setup is complete. The following describes what you have to do each time you receive a personalized order.
The first step is to make a copy of your standard product. But you change the text on your copy to match the text requested by the customer. Then you replace your standard product on the order with the copy product. The last step is to approve the order so that Printful starts fulfilling the order.
This process can become overwhelming when you receive a large number of orders. In that case, your best solution is to hire a virtual assistant. He or she will off load some of the work for you, and give you time to do marketing and create more products.
