Wix Blog Comment With Login Sucks! Let’s Fix It

If you have a Wix blog, you will quickly realize that you cannot comment on a post unless you login. No one has time for that.

Most of the time your readers don’t bother to login. They just leave. Eventually that requirement will hurt your blog performance.

A lot of my clients asked me to help fix it. I researched and tried a lot. I disabled and enabled comments. I tried to remove Login and members area on Wix blog. And more.

The only solution that works is to use a third party comment app in Wix. The app allows people to leave a comment on your Wix blog post without login. You will find the app below, and the instruction on how to set it up correctly.

Disable Wix Blog Comments

The solution is to add another comment section managed by a third party app. But a Wix comment section already exists under each blog post. If you add another section, your post will have two redundant comment sections. One requires to login. And the other allows to submit comments freely.

The two comment sections confuse people. You don’t want to confuse your readers. Therefore, you must hide or disable the Wix comment section before you add another one. The instruction and the video below will teach you so.

Steps to disable Wix Blog Comments

  1. Click My Blog icon
  2. Select Blog Pages menu
  3. Click Post page
  4. Click the body of the page
  5. Click Settings button
  6. Select Display menu
  7. Select Recent Posts & Comments
  8. Switch off Show comments

Using App to Allow Wix Blog Post Comments Without Login

Now it is the time to add a comment third party app. The app I want you to use is Comments by CodeMagic LTD. I used this app on multiple websites. And it works well.

The app has some paid features. But the comment without login feature is free. You will be able to reply to a comment, or to delete comments in the free version. Those three features are sufficient. You won’t spend any buck.

Also you won’t go to every blog post and add this app. All you need to do is to add the app to your Post page. Position it at the end of your post, and above the footer. The app will show a comment section on every post.

The app also keeps track of the comments for every post. That means a comment on one post won’t appear on other posts. If this is what you were speculating, no worry.

Anyways, follow the instruction below to add Comments app.

Steps to add Comments app by CodeMagic LTD

  1. Click Add Apps icon
  2. Type Comments in the search bar
  3. Select Comments by CodeMagic LTD app
  4. Click + Add button
  5. Drag the app to the comment area
  6. Resize the app to fit the full width of screen

How to Respond to a Comment

At this point your Comments app is running on your site. Why don’t you hit that Preview button and give it a try?… Done that? Cool.

When you have very engaging readers, they will leave some comments on your post. You will need to respond back to them. So that you can build some personal connections with your readers. You respond to each comment by clicking the Reply button on each comment. If you don’t know where that button is, the below video will show you.

How to Delete a Comment

Whenever you allow people to comment freely on your blog, you will get a lot of spammy comments or hateful comments. Those comments will negatively affect your credibility. Therefore, you must delete them out of your blog.

Comments app allows you to do so. But it is not easy to navigate to comment managing area. I thought about that and created the instruction below. Follow the instruction. You will be able to delete the comments which you don’t like.

Steps to delete a comment by Comments app

  1. From Editor, click Settings menu
  2. Click My Dashboard
  3. Click Apps menu
  4. Click Comments
  5. Click trash can icon to delete a comment
